Do Some Work.

If you do group work at Uni, it would be wise to contribute to your group's work. It's not fair on everybody else if you decide that you don't have to do anything, and then be all happy and reap the benefits once it's actually completed.

Why does it seem I'm always the one left doing all of the work? You're at Uni. Suck it up and stop riding on other people to gain a pass.

I'm angry. I'm stressed. And I'm destroying the world by infecting everybody with a Zombie virus.

NOM NOM

First movie seen in 2010? Sherlock Holmes. BAM. It was quite a good movie. I enjoyed myself, and quite enjoyed the theme music too. I stayed during the credits just to listen.

New project. Since it's now impossible to get green or orange chucks in my size..in Australia… I'm planning on buying a white pair. How boring! I hear you cry. No, no, dear blog readers. I'm planning on getting my lovely and talented sister to draw some of her awesome drawings on them. So then I'll have colourful one of a kind chucks. Hurrah to that.

I'm also searching for a pair of these (below). They're Converse boots, and I'm scared that they'll only ever be available in the US. So if you see them in Australia, ever, give me a shout and I'll be forever thankful.

Cheers!

Because a heart that hurts...

I feel like a bad friend.

I'm sorry if my repeated no-I-don't-want-to-go-out-tonight attitude made any of you..some in particular..feel like I didn't want to see you. Because I do. I really do.

You've got a funny way of showing it, then. Yeah. I know. And, I feel terrible about it.

I just sometimes really don't want to go out at night. Especially spontaneously. What a horrible excuse.

And it doesn't help that my event planning skills are fail. ..I feel like such a boring person now.

How about we all go to Glow in the Dark Mini Golf?

It's a new dawn. It's a new day. It's a new life for me.

...And I'm feeling good.

Well no. Not really. Well, really about the feeling good part. Because I am. It's not like I'm feeling bad or anything. The not really was in reference to "It's a new life to me." Because really, it's the same life. It's just a new year.

Anyway, the point of that was that I recently bought Origin Of Symmetry by Muse, which thus completes my Muse albums. And on that album is a cover of Feeling Good. And it is a mighty good cover - one of my new song obsessions.

(Another new song obsession of mine is Protége Moi by Placebo. It's a French version of their song Protect Me From What I Want. It's not a cover done by another person or anything. No no no. It's Molko singing it in French. I mean, I love the English version. And then my sister showed me the French version and now I'm in love with that even more.)

I don't like finishing books. It gives me a sense of loss, which might explain why I put off reading the end of And Another Thing... for a few days. And now I have actually finished the book and am sad.

I think I was better off knowing that the series had ended with them all being blown up (the ending of the previous last novel in the series), rather than them all surviving and going about their lives as normal. Well, as normal as they can.

It just saddened me that Arthur, who had lost his love, Fenny, while travelling through hyperspace two books ago, got to see her again at the very very end of this final book, but alas, it was when he was travelling through hyperspace. So he ended up losing her once again. (When people who live in Plural zones travel through hyperspace they can end up anywhere. ..Earth is in a Plural zone..).

So it was quite sad, I think. And while I enjoyed the book immensely, I liked it better knowing that they had all been blown up in the end. ...Is that bad?

You probably have no idea what I'm talking about. You can research the Hitchhikers Guide trilogy, if you're so inclined, to find out what I'm on about.

39 for 2009

I don't usually do these types of things anymore. But I'm in need of some good reflecting. So, reflect ahoy!

1. What did you do in 2009 that you'd never done before?
Gotten myself a job perhaps.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
New Years resolution for 2009: Get a HD in a subject. Did I succeed? Yes. Yes I did.

New Years resolution for 2010: Get a HD in a subject. Will I succeed? Yes. Yes I will.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yes, actually. January 6th, I became an Aunty.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Nope, Nope.

5. What countries did you visit?
This awesome country called Australia. It's so rad and stuff. It's got kangaroos and wombats.

6. What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009?
Nothing much. 2009 was a pretty awesome year for me.

7. What date from 2009 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
A few. All of the concerts I went to. Amanda Palmer with my sister first, 25th of Feb. Then two days later The Fratellis / Yves Klein Blue / Ben Lee with Wes and Tim. That night was really nice. Had a fun fun time. And seeing Green Day, of course, on December 11. Most fun I've ever had really.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Getting a HD. Getting my job. Overall achievement filled year.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Nothing. It's been quite a good year.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
YES. I had a cold. For about 3 days. It was my first cold in a few years. So it's worth noting.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
I don't think I really bought all that much. Many many CD's. A few video games. A few tshirts...some of which I'm still waiting on..

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Hum....You've all been bad this year. No presents for you!

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Appalled and depressed? Haha.

14. Where did most of your money go?
On music!

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
I think that the answer to this question is mighty, mighty obvious.

16. What song will always remind you of 2009?
Song of the Century by Green Day. Honestly, when that started playing as they came out on stage, and everybody just shut up and started singing along, it was amazing.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? Happier I think. I don't remember how I felt last year.
ii. thinner or fatter? I hope to think fatter. But I don't think I am. I think I'm about the same..
iii. richer or poorer? Richer! Fun fun fun.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
More study. For certain things. Not that I'm not happy with my marks. I'm actually amazed that I did so well, considering I had no time to do anything this sem.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
I would say I wish I'd spent less time playing games on Kong. Mainly spending hours on Toss The Turtle just to get the "Hard" badge. But that would be a lie. I'm proud of the effort I put into getting that. ....Yes. I am tragic.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
At home with family eating turkey and spuds and all sorts of other Christmas yumness.

21. Did you fall in love in 2009?
Much to the dismay of all of you, no. Hahaha.

22. How many one-night stands?
Tut tut. As if I would do such a thing.

23. What was your favorite TV program?
When I think of what TV shows I watched this year, all I remember is Ashes to Ashes. I don't remember watching a lot of TV. I remember spending most of my time on assessments. But I always stopped to watch Ashes to Ashes.

24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Nah. I'm not a hater.

25. What was the best book you read?
Anansi Boys by Neil Gaiman. His books never disappoint.

26. What was your greatest musical discovery?
That despite what everybody thought, Green Day are still rockin'?

27. What did you want and get?
I wanted to see Green Day. And I got to see Green Day.

28. What did you want and not get?
I can't really think of anything I wanted.

29. What was your favorite film of this year?
Coraline. I don't see movies that often in the cinema. And the only one I can remember seeing this year, besides Bruno, was Coraline. And it was everything a Neil story should be.

30. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
On my birthday I worked. And watched Torchwood at night. And I turned 20. Yeah, it was a sucky birthday due to circumstances beyond my control. So, let's not dwell on it.

31. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
If all of my assessments weren't due in the last week of semester.

32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2009?
Same same. Except with more of a like of dresses. Honestly, people think I hate them. I don't. I'm actually quite fond of dresses. I just like to keep them for going out for special things.

Also, my fashion concept this year has been wanting to include a certain type and colour of shoe that is nowhere to be found.

33. What kept you sane?
Sleep.

34. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
I don't fancy celebrities.

35. What political issue stirred you the most?
I honestly have no idea.

36. Who did you miss?
It's still 2009, and I miss Wesley.

37. Who was the best new person you met?
I met a couple of people at Uni that I've become closer with. That's always nice.

38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2009.
Everything will work out.

39. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
"They're playing the song of the century of panic and promise and prosperity. Tell me a story into that goodnight. Sing us a song for me."
