Ma vie en l'air

Ma vie en l'air. It means love is in the air, apparently. ..But don't get excited. Love is not in the air. It's just the song I'm listening to at the moment. It's from this really nice French movie by the same name about this guy who's afraid of flying, and the girl he loves who moves to Australia but he doesn't go after her because he's afraid to fly. It's very cute. And very French. And it has a guy by the name of Ludo in it. And that gives the movie 10 points right there because I love the name Ludo.

I went gallavanting in the city yesterday with Kris and Sarah and Faiza and Pip and Nikki. It was very fun, as the city is. We ate Pancakes on the Rocks and rummaged through book shops and hobby shops before heading homeward at around 2pm. Because we decided that we had exhausted what the city had to offer by that time. Or maybe we were just tired ourselves.

I did get a few photos, though, before my camera decided that it's batteries were kaputt. But I turned my camera on once I got home and it said it had full battery. So, there you go. Technology lies. ...Or maybe Kinokuniya has an anti-camera device built into it's store which makes all camera batteries lie. Who knows. (I was trying to get a photo of these awesome Sandman bookends Kinokuniya had that my sister would have loved. But it was not to be.)

Just a couple of nice photos for you. None of me, of course, because I was the one holding the camera.

The Week

I love reading blogs. I love reading what people have to say and how they say it. But I think that makes me a tad stalkerish. But then I think that if you're publishing your thoughts on the internet, then you're basically inviting anybody to read those thoughts. So it evens out.

--

I managed to get myself a couple of tickets to Green Day's show here in December. Hurrah to that! And hurrah to presales and fast internet, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to get them online yesterday and would have resorted to camping out in front of Ticketek in the cold on July 1st.

I never did get to see them back in 2005 when they were big with their AI tour, unfortunately Which is why I am so very excited and very happy to be going this time around.

--

Now to this week's achievements:

  1. Can now solve 2 thirds of a Rubik's Cube by myself with no internet help!
  2. Finished all levels and all worlds on Super Mario Bros (a NES game released in 1985).
  3. Cooked Lemon Chicken Kan-Tong with Gurpie (it turned out how it was supposed to, I think. Edible? Yes. Fabulous tasting? Not really..)
  4. Got myself Green Day tickets.
  5. Started reading American Gods by Neil Gaiman (awesome book. You should read it!)
  6. Had a nice catch up with Fishy and Sarah. We talked and talked and talked and ate mushrooms and schnitzel and tofu and drank hot chocolate with marshmallows. ..And got licked to death by Sarah's dog.
--

I've also realised that it is less than a month until I turn 20. I have an idea of what I want to do on my birthday now, but when my mother asked me what I want for my birthday it just brought to the front of my mind that, like every year, I have absolutely no idea what I want. ..I don't want anything.

..Well, that's not completely true. I want a SNES. And I want a NES. But I can live without them and am really not that fussed about having them or not at the moment.

I don't think I'm a very big wanter. I think I'm more of a I'm-happy-with-what-I-have-er.

Tod's gazing at me sleepily. He just woke up and is sitting on my bed in a half asleep daze. Cute muffin. He likes to mash his face into the bed when he sleeps. It's like head-desking but in cat form. It's so strange. I think he does it because his nose is cold.

Doesn't Super Mario Bros look epic?

9 Simple Questions

I got Fishy to ask me 9 random non-generic questions. Just to spice things up a bit.

1. How many pickled peppers did Peter Piper pick?
He picked a peck of them. And a peck is about 7 and a half litres. So...that's quite a lot of pickled peppers. I'm going to say 50...50+.

2. If you're a schnitzel...WHY DO YOU EAT CHICKEN?!
Because there are different types of schnitzel. Like, Kalbschnitzel. So..it doesn't necessarily make me cannabalistic, if that's what you were hinting at..

3. I see you have cats. Could you be next crazy cat lady?
Yes. Yes, I can see that. But not at the moment, no. My two cats were driving me crazy yesterday following me around everywhere because I was the only person home. Imagine when I'm old and senial and live by myself and have a million cats! They'd be following me everywhere! ..But of course, I'll be senial. So I probably won't notice....It'll be fun. I look forward to it.

4. Why is filo pastry called filo pastry? Is it even Phillipino?!
Because filo (phyllo), according to my research, is Greek for "leaf" or "sheet". And, if you have seen this pastry, it is very leaf or sheet like. Yay!

5. Na na na na na na na na Batman?
Ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya BATMAN.

6. If you mix butter with peanuts, does it make peanut butter? =/
Yes it does! I think you have to mash it up a bit though.

7. What would a boat pirate say to an internet priate if they met? =D
They're probably the same person. Wireless internet win!

8. Why doesn't the symbol for pi look like a pie?
It does look like a pie. ..If you made a square pie. ..Or cut a square piece of pie..

9. Whats in your head? Besides a brain. =D
Lots of things. Like blood and veins and a skull. ...You should have asked what's in my mind, Fishy. Hahaha.

Desk Pad

I really like the rain. It makes me feel that it's okay to be sitting inside on the computer playing games. Not that I've been playing games.

I'm currently studying for WSD because I'm hoping that I have a chance to get at least a C. I can't actually calculate what I'm sitting on right now, because we haven't even got our first assignment marks back. ..But this WSD exam is worth 40%. So hopefully I'll do well.

--

The other day while rummaging around my room I found a UTS pad of paper that I must have gotten when I first enrolled or at camp or something. But either way, it has now become my desk pad. And my desk pad gets filled with random scribblies:

And, what's even cooler than those random scribblies, is that those random scribbles were drawn with my left hand. Yay for ambidexterity!

It's cold

It's cold.

I got up early today to head off to Uni 'cause I thought I had to come to class today when in actual fact I didn't. And I found that out as soon as I got there. So it was 10am, I had come to Uni for nothing, I was cold, and I wasn't going to have wasted my $4.40 train fare. So I went up to Town Hall for some shopping.

It wasn't really shopping though. All I did was go to JBHiFi to get YKB's EP. Which they still don't have. So I just bought a Yo Gabba Gabba DVD for my niece and Green Day's KYE single.

..Speaking of singles, I don't think anybody buys them anymore. The single section in JB is so small, you can hardly find it. I mean, I went to the JB in the TGV, and their single section is sort of easy to find, but it's about 50cm wide. But, the single section in the one on the Strand is hidden behind a pole. And consists of Miley Cyrus and some Hip Hop person I've never heard of.

I would have also bought some more Sims 2 expansion packs, but this JB had them for $15, and me, being the cheapo I am, wasn't paying $15 when I bought the previous two expansion packs for $10 each.

--

I charged the batteries in my camera last night (finally), so I decided to go out and take some photos in my backyard. It was a nice sunny day actually, despite how cold it was.

I like how blue the sky is...

--

And of course, here's one of my bedroom that I tidied up today. Sort of. ..You can see my desk now!

More photos are on FB if you're feeling in a more stalkerish mood.

--

I was just informed that my cats were sharing a heater. If you know my cats, then you know this is a big deal for them to be lying next to each other, so I had to snap a photo of it to show you. ...They usually hate each other.

They must be cold..

Sounds a bit Simmy..

Two blogs in one day? I must be bored.

Wes popped 'round about a half hour ago to borrow the IT Crowd and he also dropped off some music from The Sims that he burnt for me. I wanted some music to study to, and there's nothing like listening to sweet elevator shopping music from a computer game while studying.

Also discovered that my wireless connection is only stuffing up when the other computer is on. Although, I haven't been disconnected for the past 20 minutes. So, hopefully it's realised who it's dealing with and fixed itself.

Going to try and put comments on this thing, so my stalkers can leave me messages.

Cats and Washing

I'm doing some washing and the load finished. So obviously, I went to get it out of the machine to hang on the clothesline. But, instead of pressing the unlock button (it's a front loader), I pressed the Start button which is ever so convieniently placed right next to the unlock button. So now I have to wait for the machine to wash again. ...At least I know they'll be clean.

--

As promised, here are some of my cat drawings from my Year 12 Art book. They're blue because my walls are blue and I guess the morning light reflects.

--

Also, I'm trawling through my Photobucket, and look what I came across!

I love progression photos..

There's a Party in my Tummy!

Actually, there isn't. Except for about 3 Tic-Tac's and a couple of mints, I haven't eaten since lunch. But it's almost dinner.

--

For some reason I was extremely tired yesterday. And the only reason I can put it down to is that Lauren and I went to bed at 1am on Monday. But, the thing is, we didn't get up until near 9am, which means we got the better part of the 8 hours sleep anyway. So I don't know why I was tired. Odd.

--

McDonald's Bacon and Egg McMuffins are getting smaller every time I eat one. ..Which is about one a year.

Although, this year I've had two already. Won't be having one until next year I reckon! Yay!

And hopefully I won't be having Maccas for a while. ...I said I wouldn't have it again after having to stop off at Bathurst Maccas about a month ago. What an experience that was...

--

I downloaded a SNES SimCity ROM today so I could play it on my computer. My residents don't like that housing prices are too high. ..I can't figure out how to lower housing prices though. And the helping guy doesn't help. He tells me that I need to build the houses closer to community lots. And I do and my people hate me even more. Poo to them.

I am getting quite good at Super Mario World though.

--

I think in these holidays I might draw another picture. So I won't be so bored. Remember this one?

I remember that one being extremely fun to draw..

--

Oh, I also have to finish off Banjo Kazooie on my N64 these holidays too. Remember my mission? To collect every single item on it? I'm halfway through, so, hopefully the last few worlds won't be that tricky.

--

So, I just realised that these holidays will consist of...video games and drawing. ...I need to get out of the house.

..Zoo anyone?

Viva La.....

Viva La Gloria says Green Day. It's my new favourite song on 21CB. Every week I obsess over a new song on that album. It's lovely. That's really what you want in an album - 18 songs, each around 4+ minutes long. I feel like I've gotten my moneys worth.

--

WSD went well. Yay! I did better than I expected on it. So yay to that. I just have three exams this week, and then I am free for...a week. Until my WSD exam. Then I have a month off! Hurrah!

--

It's almost the Queen's Birthday long weekend. Which means that I shall be sleeping over Noble's on Sunday night I believe. Yay to sleepovers. .....Maybe I should bring my Nintendo. ...I'll ask.

--

I feel like watching Interview with the Vampire.  I need to get my fill of Fabio-esque vampires and their pretty costumes.

--

Tod's watching me as I write this, and seeing as he's a poser who loves his photo taken, here is is now.

--

When I left High School, I was pretty sure I took my Art book with me. It had lots of little sketches of my cats in it, so, why wouldn't I take it with me when I left? Unfortunately, while searching for it to show my sister I couldn't find it. Then I realised I didn't even remember taking it when I left and that Artman must still have it and it probably got chucked out.

I got a text from my sister yesterday saying that when she turned up to Art yesterday my Year 12 Art book was sitting next to her major work. Artman found it and it is now returned safe to me.

I'll post some of the sketches up on here later. I forgot all about them, and looking back at them I'm quite impressed with how awesome I was at drawing cats.
